About the role

The School Counsellor is responsible for providing professional, confidential counselling

support to students across the school, helping to promote emotional wellbeing, resilience

and positive personal development.

The post holder supports students experiencing a wide range of emotional, social or

personal challenges, enabling them to engage successfully in school life and learning.

The role contributes to the safeguarding, wellbeing and personal development of all

students and plays an important part in maintaining a safe, supportive and nurturing

school environment.

The School Counsellor works closely with students, staff, parents and safeguarding

leaders to ensure that appropriate support, guidance and early intervention are available

where needed.

Work schedule: 3 working days in a week - 2 days in Krylatskoe Campus and 1 day in Rosinka Campus. The actual workdays is open to discussion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Wellbeing & Counselling Support

• Provide confidential counselling support to students experiencing emotional, social or

personal difficulties.

• Offer individual or small group counselling sessions where appropriate.

• Support students in developing resilience, emotional regulation and coping strategies.

• Assist students with personal organisation, time management and study habits where

these affect wellbeing and academic progress.

• Promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school community.

2. Safeguarding & Student Welfare

• Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young

people.

• Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and safeguarding team.

• Follow school safeguarding procedures and ensure appropriate reporting where

concerns arise.

• Support early identification and intervention for students requiring additional pastoral

care.

3. Staff & Parent Support

• Provide guidance, advice and consultation to teachers, support staff and school leaders

when required.

• Support staff in understanding and responding to student wellbeing needs.

• Liaise with parents and caregivers where appropriate to support student wellbeing.

• Contribute to a coordinated pastoral approach across the school.

4. Training & Awareness

• Deliver or support staff training related to student wellbeing and pastoral care.

• Provide guidance sessions on topics such as bullying, healthy relationships, wellbeing

and substance awareness.

• Promote awareness of mental health and emotional wellbeing within the school

community.

5. Records, Monitoring & Reporting

• Maintain appropriate and confidential records of counselling sessions and student

support.

• Provide anonymised reporting and data to the Senior Leadership Team regarding trends

and support needs (e.g. number of students supported, types of concerns, age ranges).

• Ensure all documentation complies with school policies and safeguarding expectations.

6. Service Development

• Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the counselling service.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen student wellbeing support within the school.

• Contribute to the development of wellbeing and pastoral systems across the school.

• Support initiatives that promote a positive, caring and inclusive school culture.
